Arrival in Skopje, meet the guide/assistant and transfer to the city center. Depending on arrival time, visit the atelier of Damian, a young collector of traditional costumes and tailor who creates the authentic outfits worn by participants in the Galichnik Wedding. Hotel check-in. Welcome dinner at a traditional local restaurant.
Skopje - Tetovo - Mavrovo - Galichnik - Mavrovo | 11.07.2026 (Saturday)
After breakfast, depart for Tetovo to visit the famous Painted Mosque, an architectural masterpiece inspired by oriental artistic traditions. Continue to Mavrovo, a village on the shores of Lake Mavrovo. Traditional lunch with a local family. Hotel check-in in Mavrovo. Afternoon transfer to Galichnik, heart of the wedding tradition; the guide introduces the history, symbolism and rituals of the event. The wedding ceremony is hosted at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, coinciding with St. Peter's Day (Petrovden), under the patronage of the State and the Office of the President. Explore key ceremony locations: Church of Saints Peter and Paul, hotel (bride's departure point), the main village fountain, the bride's house and the village cemetery. Evening photography of the opening rituals: 19:30 decoration of the wedding flag and rifle shots; 20:00 welcoming the musicians; 20:30 traditional dance of the groom's mother; 20:45 'Nevestinsko' and 'Teshkoto' dances; 21:00 bringing the bride to the three fountains. Dinner at leisure.
